We love customizing cakes to fit our clients’ visions and personalities. While the cakes in our Cake Shop (like all of the examples above) can be semi-customized with your favorite flavors and fillings, we also work with clients on fully custom cakes. All bets are off when it comes to these cakes, so we require a longer timeline (at least 2 weeks) for these to ensure we’ll have plenty of time to pull off the cake design of your dreams. Pro Tips for Ordering the Perfect ECBG Birthday Cake
Make a plan sooner rather than later: We tend to book up quickly, so make sure to reach out and give us as much notice as possible. Our cake artists need at least 2 weeks’ notice for custom cake orders and at least 4 days’ notice for Cake Shop orders.
Personalize your cake completely: Want an extra-special option? Go fully custom. Share the birthday girl’s unique style, favorite colors and flavors, and things she loves (favorite characters, favorite movies and books, sports teams she loves, the sky's the limit). We can work with these details to create something you can trust she’ll love and make sure the resulting cake has the perfect personal touch. Custom cakes are works of art!
Top the cake with something special: Order a fun cake topper from Etsy or add on extras with ECBG. We offer a number of upgrades like cherries, gold candles, French macarons, and butterflies on top of the cake.

It depends on the bakery you’re working with for your upcoming birthday celebration! We usually request at least 2-3 weeks in advance for custom cakes and at least 4 days in advance for Cake Shop cakes. Because even the Cake Shop cakes are semi-custom, all of our cakes are baked to order—and that requires notice. You'll need to have the guest count handy, as well as if you plan to serve additional desserts (Dessert tables packed with cookies, brownies, blondies, bite-sized desserts, and more are a popular choice. Fresh fruits, or a special kind of chocolate truffle would also be great ideas.

For Cake Shop cakes, choose from options like classic vanilla, chocolate, red velvet, lemon, almond, marble (a chocolate and vanilla swirled cake), funfetti, strawberry, and carrot cake.

We offer tons of decadent and delicious filling options like vanilla Italian meringue buttercream (it’s not too sweet!), vanilla whipped mascarpone, chocolate whipped ganache, cream cheese frosting, strawberry whipped ganache, raspberry whipped mascarpone, vanilla pastry cream, lemon curd, passion fruit whipped ganache, and caramel mousse. Good luck picking just one!
You can also choose the colors of the Italian meringue buttercream that covers the outside of the cake. Not sure what to pick? If you don’t specify a color, we’ll just make the cake look like the photo on the site.

Yes! If you’re ordering from the Cake Shop, you’ll be prompted to specify if you need a gluten-free cake and input any allergies you have during the online ordering process. There’s an additional $20 surcharge for gluten-free cakes. If you’re going the custom route, talk to us early on in the process about any allergies or dietary restrictions so we can be sure we can accommodate everything you need.

Our cake delivery minimum is $600, so this is usually only an option for wedding cakes. You’ll need to pick up your cake and carefully transport it home or to your party venue when it’s ready. (Maybe you can convince your best friends to do the hard work for you).
